Kelenken — a towering “terror bird” of the Middle Miocene, stalking Patagonian savannas and plains 15 million years ago. Named after a fearsome Tehuelche spirit, it stood three meters tall and ruled as apex predator.

Its massive 71.6 cm(28.2 in) skull and curved beak delivered crushing blows, while long, muscular legs enabled high-speed pursuit. A robust feathered body concealed a skeleton built to withstand intense stresses during the chase.
